Crossroads of time.

You grow up thinking age made you wiser, superior, noble
You grow up believing you will one day be, just those things
The parts I was most looking forward to was how to react to and be
Understanding yet all-knowing of the copious array of situations or flavours of life
The eyes we're given, the tongues we're sometimes meant to bite are skewed, fixed
Yet we are able to queue them in order to fit, fix or view each situation
When you've gone through the countless arrangements and there's no other setting
Where do you turn? Whose eyes can you adopt? Whose tongue can you steal?
If there's something on your mind, but you can't seem to locate it,
Where can I find it?
In the silence of a crowd?
In the corner pocket of the cobweb-filled basement?
In the sunset, at the bottom of my black cup of coffee?
I will find it....or it will find me.
And catch me off guard.
Just the way I never hoped it would be.
