Here I am, here I sit and breathe
I can feel the lights on my skin, the pant leg around my ankles
I can taste the tea that lingers on my tongue like the memory of our last kiss
Here I am, in the basement of an old 1950's home
Without you
Here I am, as I live and breathe
I remind myself that life is a gift
"I am happiness, I am happiness"
I repeat, I go through the process of
refocusing, redirecting myself
Here I am, as I lay with my back against two random couch pillows
on a couch that doesn't belong to me
I can feel the warmth of the computer, atop my lap, atop the cover atop my legs
Any warmth, is comforting
Here I am, without you near me
You are always on my mind, in my heart and in my thoughts
We've been gifted each other, we have
This gift however, like a marionette,
comes with strings attached
Here we are, I am here and you are there
We must be our own wolfpack
A wolf pack of one, that hunts and preys and learns
to protect itself in the manner and veracity of an entire pack
not only in the dark, but everyday
Without the added comfort and security from having fellow wolves, we must be individually as strong and tactful as a pack
We are one, but we can learn to attain the characteristics needed to make up a pack within ourselves
Here we are, there we will be
Maybe here with you, or maybe you'll be there without me
All possibilities are good, all possibilities will be
With you with me
Individually or together, we will have to wait and see
For now, let's live and let be

Not the end
Sitting alone in the backseat of my own car
I'm holding you close
I'm breathing you in
I won't let this go I won't ever breakdown
This isn't the end of our road
Maybe the stories were miss told
Maybe we are meant to grow old
And watch as the clouds fade away
I keep holding your hand in mine
And you're saying things so kind
But I can't hear a word you say
Without you taking my breath away
This isn't the end of our road
Maybe the stories were miss told
Maybe we are meant to grow old
And watch as the clouds fade away
As I sit here alone in the dark in the cold
And the sound of me missing you
Makes me shiver and shake
You're the only one I want not only tonight but everyday after that
This isn't the end of our road
Maybe the stories were miss told
Maybe we are meant to grow old
And watch as the clouds fade away

Out of Touch
I shouldn't have to tell you
To hold my hand
To ask you if I look alright
I shouldn't be walking alone again tonight
As the sun creeps through the ocean
You remind me of the night when
We drove past midnight, into the light of the moon
We never wanted morning to break
Under the shadows of your 5'oclock 'stache
I know you better than that
You can't stand still you can't sit alone
The ground beneath me is crumbling
I shouldn't have to tell you
I need you here with me
I shouldn't have to be the one
Picking up all the pieces
Time was between us
Time made us who we are
Time was our friend
Time became our enemy
Twinkling stars never let go of the night sky
Even when they outshine the moon
They still hold on, as I hold on
As you let go of my hand
The words we say, the things we do
You can't walk into the dark without me
I can't do this alone, alone
Without you, without you
To hold my hand
To ask you if I look alright
I shouldn't be walking alone again tonight
As the sun creeps through the ocean
You remind me of the night when
We drove past midnight, into the light of the moon
We never wanted morning to break
Under the shadows of your 5'oclock 'stache
I know you better than that
You can't stand still you can't sit alone
The ground beneath me is crumbling
I shouldn't have to tell you
I need you here with me
I shouldn't have to be the one
Picking up all the pieces
Time was between us
Time made us who we are
Time was our friend
Time became our enemy
Twinkling stars never let go of the night sky
Even when they outshine the moon
They still hold on, as I hold on
As you let go of my hand
The words we say, the things we do
You can't walk into the dark without me
I can't do this alone, alone
Without you, without you
